Yes, for real this time! If you thought a global pandemic, a fire, or even the immovable force of Atlanta traffic could stop us this time, then you don't know just how tenacious we are. We'd be thrilled to have you there with us when we finally tie an overdue knot on our 12-year adventure. Please join us for a night of good food, good people, and good times. We're excited to have you with us!
Adventure has always been at the center of our relationship. We met in on a sidewalk in London, near the dorm where we were both living during our college study abroad program. A few days later, on June 18, 2010, we decided to take an impromptu sight-seeing visit to Parliament and Big Ben. Afterward, we walked to a nearby pub to watch England play in the World Cup. We got to know each other over a few pints of Old Speckled Hen, and we haven’t been apart since.
Well, figuratively, at least. While we were inseparable in London, Matt was a rising senior at Loyola University Chicago and Myrydd a rising junior at Indiana University. After we returned to the States, we made the long-distance relationship work through phone calls, Skype, and a Chicago-to-Indianapolis Megabus route. Once Matt graduated from Loyola, he moved back home to Texas, while Myrydd finished college in Indiana. Matt took his first job in Dallas, while Myrydd found work in Florida. Our four-year long-distance relationship meant we racked up a lot of airline miles. But we turned our visits into mini vacations, avidly exploring the cities around us.
Then, in 2014, both of us arrived in Atlanta. We explored our new hometown—stumbling upon film sets, indulging at food festivals, geeking out at Dragon Con, and witnessing the madness of the Super Bowl LIII. We also continued to travel as much as we could. We visited friends in New Orleans and Santa Fe; family in Iowa, Minnesota, and Tennessee; drove to nearby Chattanooga and Charleston; and jetted to Aruba, Australia, and Japan, cashing in those hard-earned airline miles. On that last trip, as we toured the Fushimi Inari shrine in historic Kyoto, we stepped away from the hundreds of iconic red tori gates and thousands of selfie-takers to follow a path to a scenic, secluded overlook. As Myrydd stared at the mountains and the beauty of the city below, Matt pulled a ring from his shirt pocket.
While we certainly didn’t expect to wait two-and-a-half years to get married, there was a huge silver lining in pushing our date from 2020 to 2022. This year, our anniversary—June 18—falls on a Saturday. So we’ll be celebrating 12 years of love in the best way possible—with all of our family and friends. We can’t wait to see you there.
Glover Park Brewery — Marietta
Both our ceremony and reception will be held indoors on the upper floor of Glover Park Brewery (main level entrance from Atlanta Street) beginning at 4:00 p.m. After the ceremony, there will be a cocktail hour with light hors d'oeuvres in the lobby while the space is flipped for the reception. For dinner, please enjoy some of our favorite local barbecue (with vegetarian options available, of course). Afterward, drink and dance with us until 10:00 p.m.
Getting to our venue from our host hotels at the Battery Atlanta should take 15-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. The easiest way to get from the host hotels to the venue is to head north up Cobb Parkway/US 41 to South Marietta Parkway/GA-120. Turn left, head west until you reach Atlanta Street, just before the overpass. Turn right, and Glover Park Brewery will be on your right in a block or so.
While there isn’t parking at the brewery itself, there are plenty of public parking lots available in the immediate area around the brewery, though most are metered and cash-only. Towing is enforced in this area, so please be mindful of where you park. We are also working on setting up a shuttle service from the host hotels to and from the venue. Please check back for further updates on this.
Sliced brisket and pulled pork with sides
Vegetarian option: smoked Portobello sandwiches
"Corncorde" by Craig Nutt — Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
Hartsfield-Jackson is the world's busiest airport, so chances are you'll be able to book a direct flight to it. While it's primarily a Delta Air Lines hub, Southwest Airlines runs direct flights to many cities as well. American, United, and others all have regular flights to their hub airports.
Depending on traffic, you could take I-85 North through downtown Atlanta or go around the perimeter using I-285 North to our host hotels.
The Battery Atlanta, along with our blocked and other recommended hotels, is located near the junction of I-75 and I-285 in unincorporated Cobb County, northwest of Atlanta. Regardless of if you're coming from the airport, downtown, or Marietta, follow signs for Truist Park or Circle 75 Parkway.
Our venue is located in Marietta, just south of the square. From I-75, take South Marietta Parkway west to Atlanta Street SE. Turn right, and the venue will be on the right roughly a quarter-mile up the road.
From the airport, an Uber or Lyft to our hotels will cost roughly $30-$75 based on the level of service you request.
Lol, nope. Cobb County isn't part of MARTA. However, if you're looking to take the sting out of that Uber cost from the airport, you could take MARTA's red line train to Dunwoody Station. From there, an Uber or Lyft would cost $14-$30.
The Battery Atlanta — Cobb County
Our venue is located in Marietta. We recommend staying a few miles away at the Battery Atlanta where you'll find plenty to do Friday night and Saturday morning. We have reserved blocks of rooms reserved at the following hotels in the entertainment district, both of which are a two-minute walk from each other.
We have not secured room blocks at these hotels, but they are located in roughly the same region as our recommendations. The first two listed are in the same district as the ones above, and all four Battery Atlanta hotels are easy to walk in between. There are also many other hotels in the general area.

Krog Street Tunnel — Atlanta
Atlanta is more than just a Delta hub. It's a vibrant metropolis. See the sites!

Here's a wide selection of places we love, located all throughout metro Atlanta. We think you'd enjoy them, too!
The Big Chicken — Marietta
We want all of our guests to feel comfortable and safe during our wedding ceremony and reception. Please note that several of our guests are elderly, extremely young, or immunocompromised. Others work in hospitals or schools. If you haven't already, please consider getting the COVID-19 vaccination and booster before attending. If you do not wish to get vaccinated, or if you are feeling sick, we kindly request that you take a PCR test within 72 hours of our wedding to protect others who want to share this celebration with us. If you test positive or have not received your test results, please, stay home. We'll understand and catch up later.
Face masks are optional but please consider wearing one if you're not feeling well.
Absolutely! For all of our guests over 18, if we didn't already invite your partner, bring them! No special someone to go with? Feel free to bring a friend if you like. All we ask is that you let us know on your RSVP card.
Go for it! Same as above, just let us know on your RSVP card.
Semi-formal/festive. Don't over think it. Have fun!
First of all, nobody calls it that. But it will be warm. Expect temperatures in the mid-80s with moderately high humidity. Water may ironically fall from the sky. If it does, don't worry, we'll be indoors.
We sent out invites on March 10th. If you haven't received one by the end of the month, please reach out to us. If you already knew about this website or are part of our respective families, we assure you, you're invited!
Yes, even on Saturday, it's not great. Possibly the only other people who will understand just how bad it can be are our guests from Austin. As such, be sure to keep an eye on Google Maps traffic well before it’s time to leave for the ceremony. Traveling from our host hotels can take anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes.
Downtown in Centennial Olympic Park, Section 169, Serial Number 426009. Due south from the Georgia Aquarium, about half way to the Embassy Suites Hotel.
Feel free to reach out to Myrydd or Matt if there's something else we didn't cover.
